My mum taught me that meat is good for three days once cooked but just wondered what the rest of MN thought?!

I've frozen some, but I'm aiming for the remainder of the fresh to be gone today. If it looks OK, smells OK and tastes OK then it's OK by me.

I go buy the three day rule, used to work in a pub kitchen and they were the hygiene rules

I stripped the carcass yesterday and froze to use later, there is one serving for DS to have as a sandwich today, but I wouldn’t use it past today.

We're still eating it here, I think today will be the last day.

God I remember having turkey curry every New Year's Day when I was a kid living at home. How we survived keeping it for that long I have no idea!

As long as it smells and tastes fine then it’s fine

But at the moment, I’d rather boil my own head than eat turkey again. Having pasta and salad tonight, I need some non-festive food

We had a roast dinner christmas day and boxing day and a salad the next. On Christmas day I stripped the Turkey and made several portions of curry for the freezer. So 3 day max for me

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 29/12/2020 09:03

Five days if it’s been stored properly.

It freezes well so you can always freeze the remainder if you don’t think you’ll get around to eating it all.

I did say that it needed using by yesterday but we only have a little left, it's been so good and it still looks and smells OK, so we'll finish it today.
