Ok, so, I know this is asking the impossible but here we are.

When I was in primary school (so 1998 latest) our teacher used to read us short stories from this book. I really want to check it out for my nephew but I can't for the life of me remember the name.
The front cover was quite bright, there was definitely a dinosaur (could have been a dragon but I don't think so) on it. The whole cover was a picture when it opened up and I remember the tail end of the dinosaur being on the back.

The book wasn't actually about dinosaurs, although one or two of the stories may have been. I distinctly remember a story in there that featured pink iced buns.

Anyone hazard a guess? I realise this post makes me look like I'm smoking something, I'm not I promise.

@Talipesmum

It has to be Terry Jones Fairy Tales. It’s the one before the “fantastic stories” up thread- maybe there was a combined volume. There’s a story in it called The Beast with a Thousand Teeth all about a boy (the son of pastry chefs) covering all the cakes with pink icing because the beast likes them best. The whole book is illustrated by Michael foreman and is really beautiful. I remember a different front cover but there have been several over the years. You can still get it and I’d definitely recommend it.
I think you’re right. There’s this picture online and they definitely look like pink iced buns
