What’s everyone eating over the next week?

Just about to sort out our food shop for the next week and we have realised we have no enthusiasm for food!! Not like us, we are voracious cooks and eaters, always got something going on in the kitchen yet with all the recent food consumption we can’t think of what we might like to eat!
Would anyone be willing to share their meals for the next few days please, just for some inspiration?

Spinach and ricotta canelloni
Chicken stew and dumplings
Jacket spuds with cheese, coleslaw and salad
I've ordered a 3 day Hello Fresh box for DH and I for rest of the week as I couldn't be bothered to plan any further meals for the week. On those days I'm doing Pizza with salady bits and Macaroni Cheese for the DC. I'll take them for fish n chips the third day.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 28/12/2020 19:16

Our meal plan this week is:

Tonight - lasagne and peas
Tues - “brinner” - full English for dinner
Wed - Vegetable curry, pita breads
Thurs - Indian takeaway
Fri - chicken fajitas
Sat - veggie burgers, chips, salad
Sun - sausage and butterbean casserole, mashed potatoes

I suspect there may be a few cheese breaks in there too.

LemonSquirtInTheEyeOfLife · 28/12/2020 19:22

Tomato rice - I eat this quite often (recipe is on YouTube, it's extremely easy). I add various veg, maybe an egg, peas/beans or some meat for protein
Pea & ham soup
Minestrone or miso soup - both light, adaptable, cheap & easy
Baked potato, lamb leg steak, & peas
Poached salmon with vegetables
Cottage pie & vegetables
Cheese, crackers, paté & salad (probably at least two nights, we still have quite a bit of cheese)

SquirrelFan · 28/12/2020 19:27

Not so excited about food here either; made a sort of turkey ramen tonight and there's still some turkey left! I'm planning cod with lentils and some kind of aubergine thing (although been informed that the mozzarella isn't coming, so not Italian). We have loads of little tomatoes as despite a previous thread, tomatoes do not figure prominently in our festivities, so may make a simple pasta sauce out of them. Also need to use up a very salty ham...

iklboo · 28/12/2020 19:28

Beef stroganoff & mash tonight
Homity pie tomorrow
Salmon & risotto Wednesday
Curry Thursday
Gaviscon soup Friday 😄

Bloodybridget · 28/12/2020 19:29

Sausages, jacket potato, peas
Steak, oven chips, green beans
(We are somewhat limited until supermarket delivery comes on Wednesday)
Vegetable crumble (parsnips, leeks, mushrooms) with some green veg or other
Christmas dinner on NYE - we couldn't eat it on 25th. All the usual, from Cook!
Leftovers on NYD.
Sea bream fillets, baby potatoes, spinach
Spaghetti Bolognese
Paella with chicken, chorizo and prawns - that will do us two nights.

Not very imaginative! But all things we like.

Eviebeans · 28/12/2020 19:34

Have eaten an obscene amount of stollen bites not to mention cheese and crackers so trying to rein it in a bit so
Sausage and root vegetable mash tomorrow
Chicken and salad wraps

AlwaysLatte · 28/12/2020 19:35

Following! After all the meal planning and cooking for the last few days I have lost my ideas and mojo about cooking!!

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 28/12/2020 19:37

Lacking imagination so opted for hello fresh from tomorrow.

Tonight I made a gnocchi (slow cooked) bolognese (added pancetta and beef stock so was very rich). Sprinkled on 3 x cheeses (we all have leftover cheese right, or just me!?) and baked it in the oven for 10 or so minutes.

bluebellation · 28/12/2020 19:38

Lots of veg and fish to try to alleviate the stodgy post-Christmas feeling. We had a prawn and veg stir fry tonight, planning roast veg with halloumi tomorrow and see what the fishmonger has in on Wednesday as I'll need to go shopping then.

FatGirlShrinking · 28/12/2020 19:42

We had sausages, peas, roast potatoes and gravy tonight.

Tomorrow is a freezer food dinner
Wednesday fresh egg tagliatelli with tomato and roasted veg sauce
Thursday (New Years eve) we have M&S 'Our Best Ever' lasagna with sides and a chocolate pudding.

That's it, for planning so far, we'll be doing the weekly shop Wednesday so I'll plan out the rest before then, probably stuff like:

  • chicken breast wrapped in bacon with broccoli and green beans
  • chicken enchiladas/tacos or burritos
  • pork loin steak cooked with apple sauce or onion slices and some kind of veg side maybe carrots and parsnips
  • beef strips, noodles and veg for a stir fry
maddiemookins16mum · 28/12/2020 19:45

It feels as if we’ve eaten nothing but Gammon and Turkey since last Thursday (and sausagey things and pork pies).
Tonight was - Spaghetti Carbonara and garlic flat bread.
Tues - Grilled 5 spice salmon with egg fried rice/steamed veg.
Wed - Cottage pie
Thursday - Indian takeaway
Fri - Steak pie, mash and veg
Sat - Fajitas
Sun - probably a roast.

Gobbeldegook · 28/12/2020 19:46

Chocolate. Probably for the next month 🤣🤣

Doublechins · 28/12/2020 19:50

Tomorrow- party food because it's DS3's birthday
Wednesday- chicken with tarragon and peppers served with rice
Thursday- chicken in a tomato sauce with either rice/pasta/mash
Friday - chicken and vegetable parcels with baby new potatoes
Saturday- roast chicken with a nice stuffing and veg
Sunday - turkey satay

So...a lot of chicken 🙈

dementedma · 28/12/2020 19:54

Right now I am.having gin and an entire box of Maltesers

Misty9 · 28/12/2020 19:57

So far this week I've been enjoying my mindful chef recipe box and I've got the venison meal left to make tomorrow. Then, with the dc back, it'll be sausage and mash, baked risotto, mac n cheese on NYE probably, freezer dinner one night, pizza, and something easy like quesadillas.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 28/12/2020 20:00

Jerk chicken wraps today.

Juanbablo · 28/12/2020 20:03

We had chilli and rice tonight. Tomorrow is black bean stir fry (beef for meat eaters) with noodles. Next day is macaroni cheese. Then I don't know!

Whatever is in the freezer. Want to use up everything in their b4 doing a big shop fed up of having odds and sods in it.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/12/2020 20:13

I've been trying on and off all day to sort out a food delivery, but just don't know what I fancy.

Today I did sweetcorn fritters with spiced rice and mango salsa - delicious and felt like a much needed vitamin injection!

DP is desperate to try Nigella's fish finger bhorta, so we'll do that at some point in the next few days.

Jacket potatoes and cauliflower cheese, maybe.

Some kind of Thai curry or noodle soup or something, with tofu.

Inextremis · 28/12/2020 20:14

Salad, and Anything But Turkey.

Souperspooker · 28/12/2020 20:15
