I had really terrible careers advice relating to what I'm currently doing and given I'm currently thinking of changing profession I'm a bit lost about who to go to. I've got an appointment booked with a local government run place but that's not until early January and I would ideally like to talk to a range of people. I tried talking to a lot of people already in the industry when I was setting up in my current line of work but as it's a form of self-employment, I don't feel people were always entirely honest about what bad shape the industry was in and how little most were earning. I don't want to end up with the same inaccurate information again but how do I avoid that? Can anyone advise?
