What vacuum cleaner do you have?

It's my birthday at the end of Jan and I think I would like a new vacuum cleaner because ours is awful.

We have a dyson ball at the moment but our carpets are really thick. Either the suction is too powerful or the wheels just don't move on the carpet but I can't move it around. It's impossible to push. I have to lift it, put it down somewhere, and then drag it backwards.
I can use the hand attachment but it only comes with a stair tool, meaning I do my entire house with a teeny tiny attachment. I also have to do it on my hands and knees because I have a bad back and to stoop for that long would kill me.
We don't have many hard floors, however we are planning on moving soon and will have more hard floors in the new house.

What vacuum cleaner do you have, and would you rate it? Particularly for thick carpets but also needs to tackle hard floors. Thanks!

I have Shark Upright "lift away pet" it has been amazing. Always had Dyson's and would not go back now. Really good on both carpet and hard floors.

I have a ~20yo Dyson DC01 (or maybe 02) 'de Stijl'. DH hates it but it hasn't broken yet so can't be replaced.

Shark pet cordless model with anti hair wrap, I have long hair, so the anti hair wrap was a big part of me choosing this model. I have to admit I was skeptical, but it’s been fantastic no hair around the brush bar. Really pleased with it.
