Hi all, been trying to track down the DOB of a relative, need it ASAP. Been down a few dead ends, can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks

You don't. Why would the 'hive mind enable you to do something potentially fraudulent. If it's a relative you ask another relative Xmas Confused

TeaStory · 28/12/2020 12:28

Why?

purplecorkheart · 28/12/2020 12:30

Do you know approximately where and they were born? Births, deaths and marriages office. Our maybe from one of those family tracing sites.

Crapbuttrue · 28/12/2020 12:33

Are they a Director of a company?

LIZS · 28/12/2020 12:33

Try free bmd

Soutiner · 28/12/2020 12:33

You can search here if you have an approximation

Why would it be fraudulent?

You can search online BMD (births marriages and deaths) by name for free. It helps if you know the district of birth or parents names, especially if it's a common surname.

Belleende · 28/12/2020 12:36

Very sad story that is not for public airing, but we need the DOB for official purposes. No other relatives know the precise DOB. Have tried one of the tracing sites but they don't have records from my part of the UK.

It will probably be easier if you tell us the decade and area/town.

LIZS · 28/12/2020 12:51

Any marriage/divorce/baptism? Freebmd will narrow it down

Belleende · 28/12/2020 12:55

Thanks all, i managed to search the register but there is another complicating factor that means this is not straight forward. Have an unverified DOB and that will have to do for now.

LIZS · 28/12/2020 12:56

You might be able to use that to order a birth certificate.

Squeejit · 28/12/2020 12:58

Contact the registry office in the town they were born. They will be able to help.

Santaisreel · 28/12/2020 12:59

Which country?
