I don't need any more signs like this, 2020! I wouldn't have thought twice about this before but I feel all superstitious and spooked now. Funny how things like this suddenly seem to take on so much meaning when your in crisis! 🐈‍⬛

Well I have a black cat, so she crosses my path often, as well as stick her arse in my face, use me as a trampoline....

Are you ok in yourself OP?

WilyKit · 28/12/2020 10:27

Yes thank you @gamerchick, thank you for asking Thanks I hope your black cat brings you lots of luck!

Good God, and I meant 'you're' not 'your'

I thought that was good luck?

Trinacham · 28/12/2020 10:31

I think it is good luck too. My hubby doesn't remember funnily enough but he told me that before our first date his black cat walked in front of him. 10 years later we are happily married.

WilyKit · 28/12/2020 10:32

WHAT?!?! It's good luck?!?! 🍾🍾🍾🍾

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 28/12/2020 10:34

Ive always heard good luck.

TodgerStrunk · 28/12/2020 10:35

@WilyKit

WHAT?!?! It's good luck?!?! 🍾🍾🍾🍾
Not if it's on the stairs in the dark of night.
Lynchpin2018 · 28/12/2020 10:35

@WilyKit Yes it’s a sign of good luck!

backinthebox · 28/12/2020 10:37

Whether you believe it is good luck or bad luck, what it actually is is just a black cat going about it’s business and it has no power to influence your luck in any way at all. If you believe a black cat crossing your path is going to make your year even worse - it is not. You’d be much happier if you didn’t attribute such dire meanings to everyday occurrences you are powerless to influence.

SantasBritchesSpelleas · 28/12/2020 10:38

My black cat crosses my path about 50 times a day!

madcatladyforever · 28/12/2020 10:41

My black cat is always crossing my path, so far I've dodged many bullets because of the luck she brings me.

A black cat just crossed my path...
Prokupatuscrakedatus · 28/12/2020 10:42

Depends if it went into your past (left) or into your future (right) or so superstition says (lower Rhine area, so may be different somewhere else)

hedgehogrose · 28/12/2020 10:43

I hate it when my black cat crosses me on the stairs, thankfully not often.
We adopted him because black cats are often not wanted as they're associated with bad luck - so you aren't alone in your thinking op.

Skyliner001 · 28/12/2020 10:45

Lovely, black cats are good luck 💚

WilyKit · 28/12/2020 10:46

It dashed off to my left. It was very sweet, maybe it's a sign I should get a cat!

OurChristmasMiracle · 28/12/2020 10:49

Yep it’s definitely a sign that you should adopt a black cat. That’s what the sign is.

draughtycatflap · 28/12/2020 10:49

Black cats are just cats. It is wrong to attribute superstitious nonsense to them. It has a real effect on their well being. Black cats are usually the last in a litter to be picked in cat charities because of human stupidity.

Gatekeeper · 28/12/2020 10:50

Its in USA that this is considered unlucky, in UK it is def lucky. You often got black cat mascots given at weddings along with horseshoes

HunkyPunk · 28/12/2020 10:50

I'm always really happy when a black cat crosses my path - it's associated with good luck afaik! (not that I'm at all superstitious, or anything! Blush)

DuzzyFuck · 28/12/2020 10:52

I have a black cat who crosses my path a hundred times a day and I can't say I've noticed any upturn in either bad or good luck in the 10 years I've had him.

Superstitious bollocks that is the reason black cats are much less likely to be rehomed than their more colourful cousins Sad

CathyorClaire · 28/12/2020 10:53

Count yourself lucky it just crossed your path.

Ours is intent on sending us flying to our deaths every opportunity she gets.

BTW black cats are awesome. Who wouldn't want their own miniature panther?

EloraaDanan · 28/12/2020 10:54

My black cat is currently sitting on my head. Make of that what you will. He’s a beaut though so I’ll allow him to stay there regardless.

TeaMeBasil · 28/12/2020 11:03

Definitely good luck!

Mine is currently using me as a bed to nap on. She's warm, cozy and relaxed and as a result, so am I - am very lucky to have her 😍 🐈‍⬛

FAQs · 28/12/2020 11:05

I have 3 black cats, and a black dog. It wasn’t planned, but anyway, it’s considered lucky, although they are always the rejected ones at rehoming centres.
