I made a purchase on PayPal and about 30 seconds later I received a message saying that they had security concerns. I inputted the info they asked for but I'm now concerned it was a scam. They wanted me to confirm a few security questions, DOB things like that.
I've heard that these scams operate where they can take your details. But if it occurs right after you use your card, then it wouldn't be a scam would it? Has anyone else had this? I feel really stupid.

What site did you use for the purchase

Santaisreel · 27/12/2020 23:54

Go change your PayPal password ASAP

purplecorkheart · 27/12/2020 23:54

Log into paypal from a new browser. Remove your credit card/debit card/ bank account details and then change your password.

Santaisreel · 27/12/2020 23:54

Also remove any cards attached to the account

We had huge problem with PayPal a while back. They're basically reporting security problems and often locking out your account to force people to give them photo ID to verify your account no matter how long you've had one and despite an excellent history.

I hope it's something like that rather than a scam, OP. Good luck.

I've done all of the above. I think I'll send them an email in the morning just to be on The safe side

Give your bank a call in the morning too and advice them to key an eye out for unusual transactions.

Thanks @purplecorkheart I'll do that as well.
