Positive when PT in loo ?!

Hi guys,

I’m a bit confused. I am not due AF until 3rd Jan but have been symptom spotting even though I have tried not to. I decided to take an early PT earlier to see if it would answer any questions and it’s left me so confused.
The first text I tried I didn’t manage to get much wee on the test so dipped it in the loo (obviously where my wee was) and its come back positive. I tried testing a couple of hours later and have had a negative. I read online it could be to do with the water having certain chemicals in so I tested the water just now with no wee and it’s deffo negative.

Have no idea what to think ! Was hoping it may be my rainbow after a MC cycle after last. Any ideas ?

You need to test in first morning urine

You’re very early to test - are you sure your “positive” isn’t an evap line or flooded test or something, given your unorthodox methodology? Try first thing in the morning- I recommend weeing into a cup then dipping the stick, it’s much easier than trying to “aim”. But my hunch is it’s just too early.

Yeah you have no ideas what chemicals are in the loo water that could cause a reaction on the PT. As PP says, do another test with your first morning wee, its more concentrated so will give a better result!

Pee in a cup and dip it in, pointless trying to pee on the test as this kind of thing happens! Definitely no point dipping it in the loo though.

Do it in a cup and hold it in there for however long it says.
Dipping it in the toilet will not work, and as you're so early, it needs to be first pee of the day.
I always do it this way because I find it impossible to pee on the stick for long enough haha

Ok so I’m still very early to test but I just want to know now ! Tried just now with a cheapy and feel like there may be a very very faint line ? I don’t know if I’m just imagining it as I want it so much ? ! Just felt like this was my month. Am I going mad ?

I can only see one line, not even a hint of a second line.

I think I can see a second line but I wouldn't hang my hat on it. Leave it another couple of days and try again.

I think I can see a second line, but it's extremely faint. Do it again in a couple of days, with pee in a cup rather than trying to pee on the stick itself.

FWIW I dropped my first ever BFP in the toilet, but I'd already dipped it and left it for the requisite time, just knocked it in before reading the result. It was a faint positive but I wasn't sure due to the toilet dive, so just checked again the next day. He's 4 now.

As others said previously, test with first wee of the day. Your urine is less concentrated then. Hard to tell with that pic as it's been taken quiet far from the test

The best thing to do would be to wait until the day AF is due. As hard as it is to wait. Should be a definite answer by then
