Is this a nice idea?

We've got a tonne of left over party food and no freezer space for it. I thought it would be a nice idea to cook it this evening and then go for a drive through town and give it to the homeless. DP thinks its patronising.

Ring your local organisation first - they probably have a better way to distribute it. Nice idea though

Are there any homeless shelters , community fridges or foodbanks who would take it? Rough sleepers tend to be accommodated over Christmas.

Not the same thing but DH uses a food sharing app and we have given away quite a bit. Saves you wasting it, just an idea

It is a bit patronising not to mention potentially unsafe. I would post on your local Facebook page asking for anyone to point you in the direction of a local charity that could use the food. Alternatively do you have any elderly or vulnerable neighbours that might welcome some nice food.
