Reaching out to wonderful mumsnetters for some ideas for my dds birthday. She is alone in London as all her uni friends went home a couple of weeks ago and her Christmas plans were scupered by Tier 4 restrictions. She is turning 21 on Jan 1 - would love to give her some amazing London experience to look forward to or if you can think of anything she could do on the day in a socially distanced way that would be fab too.
It’s been a tough year to be apart and I would love to make her day special. Im not counting on the parcel we sent weeks ago is going to arrive this week.
Any suggestions of fab on line shops etc also gratefully received

My DH ordered me some balloons in a box for my bday - when I opened the box they floated out which was lovely. Maybe you could get her some cupcakes del

*delivered too? Or donuts.

Unlikely anything will be open unfortunately for an experience unless you want to get her a voucher for something in the future.

A box from The Biscuiteers makes a great present. Also, gift vouchers for Gong (at the Shard).

Some of the London national trust and English heritage properties grounds are open, if she'd like to wander around one of them by herself and it's close enough to go for daily exercise. I would have loved that by myself at that age, but she may not. Blush We're off to Eltham Palace in a couple of days as we are local.

Thank you everyone ...Mrs Wombat that is an excellent idea ...exactly what I was after - thank you so much.
It’s a very special birthday especially for Australian kids, amd as we are barred from leaving the country we want to make it as special as possible. Thank you xx

Virgin experience days - buy her voucher to use later.

Similar vein to what has been suggested - Kew Gardens is open (possibly only outdoor areas, but it’s huge and fabulous!) which would be really fun, they may even still have their winter lights display for her birthday.

Gail’s Bakery (several branches in London) do delivery of cakes/treats - we had some delivered on my birthday and it was such a lovely surprise. Hummingbird bakery (do amazing cupcakes/cakes) also do delivery within London I’ve had these delivered on another birthday and it’s been lovely. Separately marks and spencer do some lovely hampers with Prosecco/champagne and you can add chocolates or flowers etc. We’ve been sent some of these and they’ve been lovely!
Also - La Fromagerie do deliveries of cheese if that’s her thing
