hello. yesterday we had just my dad and later joined briefly by sister and dd to bring round presents and pull a cracker. even pre covid the arrangements wouldn't have been much different but i feel so sorry for the people who have extended family which would normally get together over a 2 day period. i agree totally that seing them on whatsap or zoom is much better than having no contact at all, there is no substitute for actually physicly being together. let's hope the worst of this will pass and christmas 2021 will be a better less restricted period. hugs to all x

We zoomed our families but had it just us and our toddler.

Was good but tiring especially after 9 months of zero downtime. We were due to travel and have some grandparent spend time with our toddler.

I'm sad that they have missed out on nearly a year of his life and will also miss his birthday next month but we can't change that and just have to hope for a Easter meet up instead.

We normally do Christmas dinner at our house for loads of family, yesterday it was just us and we can't believe how lazy, chilled and lovely our day was.

I'm not sure I'm up for hosting a huge family Christmas again after yesterday.

It was ace though we're all suffering now! Xmas Envy

DS back home from uni and excited as a 5yo to spend some family time. Mum came over and stayed late she normally rushes off to my aunt's after dinner so it was lovely and chilled. The wine flowed and we played daft games and chatted round the table til late. Not done that for ages.
