Could I just grate good quality chocolate in the food processor?.

I think you can. YouTube has lots of videos.

Yes you can, we buy chocolate flakes in massive bags from Amazon. Just get the milk a little bit warm (by turning the velvetiser on) before putting the flakes in if they are bigger than the official ones as otherwise the whisk gets stuck and the chocolate just clumps.
We also make the flavours by using extracts/essences (have done mint and orange so far), just a few drops is enough. Haven’t managed to replicate chilli flavour yet though!

We use Green and Blacks

I have a Dualit milk frother (which looks identical to the velvetiser just branded differently and half the price) and chuck in milk, pure cocoa powder and sweetener (or you can use sugar)

They look good; can you get them in supermarkets?
Fluffycloudland77 · 26/12/2020 09:17

I knew mumsnet would have the answer. I have a cows milk allergy so I’m going to buy some proper chocolate & grate it.

Chilli flavour sounds interesting.

I haven't seen them in the supermarkets. I have only ordered online. Tend to buy the massive bags off there so they last. Catering size!
Let us know how grating the choc goes.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/01/2021 21:33

Grating choc was a pain but was frothier than the hc flakes.

I’m going to try cupsmiths Rose drinking chocolate, apparently tastes just like Turkish delight.

We use pendragon flakes in a Lavazzo milk frother. Delicious.

we may order lots of other choc goodies at the same time

I have a KA mini chopper , it grates chocolate buttons up just right , I use it in my smeg milk frothier , makes delicious hot chocolate , a bit hotter than the velvetiser heats the milk to
