Why do Nintendo make it so hard to us their devices?

Trying to set up a 3DS for DC. Had to create an adult account, then add my child’s account. Then on the device had to create a network ID. Then had to link my account to the network ID. It won’t link my account to his network ID because the DOBs don’t match - no shit. so I have £20 sitting in my account that can’t be spent. No idea how to get it returned. I’m going to have delete his network ID and set it up again with my DOB. Been at this for almost 2 hours trying to sort. Why is it so hard?

On the bright side, once you get it all set up you can look forward to 15,000 emails a week telling you that he played Animal Crossing for 3 and a half minutes, then Mario Party for 8 minutes, and then etc etc

I got my DD a Switch for her birthday during lockdown and I don't know how the hell I managed to get it set up while the kids were in the house. My degree finals were less complicated!

Maybe there’s a YouTube tutorial that might have a walkthrough guide? Could speed up the process

I don't know if the 3DS is the same as the switch. But its quite easy on the switch. I set up an online profile on my details, download the games from the e-shop. The kids have their own profiles, but don't have them set up for online. They can play the games I've downloaded and installed on the switch. Easy.

I feel your pain. I got myself really stressed setting it two switches today. Messed it up and ended up with with one child set up on both switches. Now the online membership code says it’s already been used when it hasn’t! I’ve emailed but can imagine they are swamped!

Well I’ve given up for this evening. I’m going to pour myself a drink and forget about I until the morning! Happy Christmas everyone!
