Kids’ kindle fire - any messaging/video call apps?

My six year old got her first tablet today. One of those kids’ kindle fires. She would like to be able to text my sister and my mum, maybe video call them. Any all recommendations?

Have you checked Amazon? I haven't used any but there are several apps for messaging and video calls available, some marked as for children.

Just talk kids - my daughter has this on the iPad and I think you can get it on kindle fire. You set who they can talk to on it. They can't accept anyone etc. It took a bit of setting up but is super secure.

Mine use the Stars messaging app - don’t need a sim for it. It’s like what’s app for kids but they all need to accept each other as contacts so there’s no randoms able to contact them.
