Dc2 will appear in my bed in the night. I feel sure he'd walk straight past a stocking. Ive dobe them in their rooms previous years. What does every one else do?

We have a small tree on the landing, I could put them there I guess.

Bedroom and dd can open presents when she wakes up. Buys 15 mins extra sleep for me!

We always do it downstairs, removes any possibility of being caught putting it out.

Always downstairs for us.

Bedroom, I remember as a child waking up and feeling a heavy stocking on the end of the bed, downstairs is for the Christmas tree presents :)

Downstairs fireplace. That way we don't have to sneak in.

For the first time this year we have started putting them downstairs. It's getting go difficult to not get caught! Ages 5 & 9. The 9 year old thinks he knows so it's probably my last year with him not really knowing

End of bed. That feeling in the morning when you touch it with your toes is magical. Harder to pull off sneaking in now with teenagers. They pretend to be asleep then shout Boo at me.

Downstairs fireplace. End of bed too stressful.

Arggghhhj.

I just put them on the end of my bed (DD is co-sleeping with me, she's scared about Father Christmas being in the house tonight) and she's sat bolt upright asking to see if anything is in her stocking yet.

The bloody box of 'Nerds' sweets were rattling round and sounded like maracas.

I shoved a blanket over it quick. So then she asked for the blanket Hmm

End of bed is nicest but I don’t do it for my own for two reasons 1. Easier to fill downstairs and 2. Not so much now but in earlier years dc had similar stocking presents so I wanted them to open them at the same time.
Top tip: buy duplicate stockings and have them
Pre filled so you just swap the empty for the full one

Big mistake this year was putting something in the stocking with bells on it!!

ImFree2doasiwant · 25/12/2020 01:14

Bloody hell. That WAS stressful. I've put them in their room. Not on the bed , pretty sure they'd fall off in the night. And strategically placed So they don't spot them immediately in the event of a very early wake up
