The dc aren’t asleep yet 😭😭

Please go to sleep soon. I need to sort the stockings out.
I may need to open another bottle of wine at this rate 😆 🍷

Are they in bed? This is why I told mine their stockings MUST be in the sitting room or Father Christmas worries about waking them up.

No stockings in bedrooms ever!

Justgivemewine · 25/12/2020 00:08

They are in bed but I can hear them bouncing around and whispering to each other. Stocking are always downstairs but I don’t trust the little one not to sneak down and try and catch Santa if he thinks everyone else is in bed. 😆

Aw, bless. I do miss this. Mine are grown up and will barely make it up for dinner 🤣

Dd10 is still awake 😩 just go to sleep!!!
How the hell am I going to get the presents in her stocking at the end of her bed???

ParkheadParadise · 25/12/2020 00:22

We are still up because DH has opened another bottle of wine before we start to assemble the kitchen that is in bits on the living room floor.

Yes I’m waiting for DS11 to go to sleep. He’s currently coming through to our room every 10 mins to tell us he can’t sleep. I really want to sleep. I’ve had to set alarm to go off in an hour as I know I’ll fall asleep.

But this is karma as my brother and I often didn’t get to sleep until 3 or 4am on Christmas Eve.

Justgivemewine · 25/12/2020 00:34

Toot, we have an older one like that 😁

saffire, Santa delivers downstairs in out house, makes life (a bit) easier

parkhead I don’t envy you that job.

It’s finally gone quiet upstairs, we are finishing watching 30 years of “have I got news for you” and trying not to laugh too loud, then heading off to bed.

Justgivemewine · 25/12/2020 00:37

collie I feel your pain, I’ve had to do alarm thing before now too.

It’s definately quiet now, we are going for it 😂😂,good luck everyone.

I've just done the stockings and the rest is under the tree. Just heard from my friend who lives in the US that he got his gifts on time. All is quiet here with 2 teenagers doing their own thing quietly in their bedrooms. I'm going to try and get some sleep very soon

80sColourfulChristmas · 25/12/2020 00:43

Thankfully I've managed to drill it into mine throughout the day that she MUST go to sleep early or Santa won't come and if she sneaks down to try see him, he'll magically disappear and so will all the presents (the look of horror on her face....!!) So she promised not to come down if she wakes up.

Was asleep by 9!!! (Last night & every night since school ended, she hasn't gone to sleep until almost midnight!)

She has Autism and I've found that any particular 'requirement' behaviour wise, if I tell her in advance, she agrees immediately as it becomes a plan. For some things, that means mentioning it about a week prior....

Her behaviour this week though, has been absolutely diabolical. I've been in tears at some points so this is not a braggy post by any means!!!

OP if they're still awake, I'd consider telling them that you've just seen Santa & his Reindeer leaving the house down the street(?) and flying off! He must not have come because you're awake! You'd better go to sleep so he comes back - quick!

🤷🏼‍♀️ Worth a shot Wine

AccidentallyOnSanta · 25/12/2020 00:43

I was , well still am but just finished.

DD has been very "I don't believe anymore" and I was honest and did tell her the truth.

Lo' and behold she couldn't fall asleep and at 12 am she finally said she wants to leave stuff out for Santa and write him a note. Asleep in 10 minutes after that.

Make your mind up child.Grin

Mammaaof · 25/12/2020 00:46

My 7 year old is still awake but my 3 year old has been asleep for hours!! At this rate 7yr old will only have couple hrs sleep before his sister wakes!

Beecham · 25/12/2020 00:50

My 9yo woke up when I snuck in to grab the empty stocking, though I don't think she saw me. Now I have to wait till she's asleep again before putting filled stocking back in her room. Argh. I want to go to bed!

AHippoNamedBooBooButt · 25/12/2020 00:55

Yep dc(11) still awake. Dh and I both have coronavirus and are really ill so have had to ask dd(16) to help out this year. Cue her friends phoning her at midnight, she has her AirPods in and is laughing down the phone with her bedroom door wide open. Cue ds getting out of bed and suddenly a “mummy, why does dd have loads of presents in her bedroom?” FUCK!!
Sort that out, get some presents under the tree and yup, ds8&4 are now also awake and dd still hasn’t shut her poxy door! Thank fuck I got there before they did. I feel like the living dead. Dh is fast asleep with a raging fever and fuck knows what dd is doing right now.
It was already the worst Christmas ever being so ill, but it feels like it is all going completely tits up. I’ve just had enough.

Hopefully everyone’s dc will go to sleep soon

Boymumzy · 25/12/2020 01:27

I've been in bed for an hour, I can't sleep at all, I'm way too excited 😂😂

AccidentallyOnSanta · 25/12/2020 01:33

Same here. It's all done. Everyone is asleep and snoring, even the cat. I'm not.Hmm
thelegitsantaclaus · 25/12/2020 01:35

Everyone needs to go to sleep!!

Merry Christmas

Sparkledot · 25/12/2020 01:37

My DD is 11, she's fast asleep now. She took her presents from under the tree, laid them out and said right, come on, it's bed time now. Never thought last year would be the last time I would put the presents out in the early hours. She was so happy with herself that I couldn't say no

saffire · 25/12/2020 05:23

And now I'm awake! 4 hours sleep! How do I do this every year?!?
