The talk about possibly not opening up schools after Christmas, does this mean primary schools as well? Sad

Nobody knows yet. Literally nobody. I don’t even think Boris knows. What we do know, however, is that we can’t rule anything out in this pandemic.

Bluewavescrashing · 24/12/2020 15:05

Even teachers won't be told until 2nd January. Ugh

There’s a host of articles here, and all I’ve learnt from them is that everything is very uncertain www.thetimes.co.uk/topic/education?page=1

Exactly Blue The gov had pushed back the decision meeting til after Christmas. What’s the betting they push it right up until the moment we’re making the DC’s lunchboxes for the first day back?! www.tes.com/news/coronavirus-school-opening-exclusive-schools-decision-expected-after-christmas

Yep nobody can tell you on here yet. No one knows.

Bluewavescrashing more like 3rd Jan at 8pm if the Government runs to form.

Yep nobody can tell you on here yet. No one knows.
Of course, I was wondering if closing primary schools was in the consideration and it seems like it is.

Thanks all

Nobody knows. What the boffins haven't yet managed to answer, though, is how parents are supposed to work and oversee school at the same time, nor how three kids sharing one computer (if that) is supposed to work. That's why Boris is putting off a decision - because nothing has been done to address the issues from last time.

Achristmaspudsskidu · 24/12/2020 16:04

Yes, of course that will be under discussion, but your guess is as good as anyone’s as to what will be decided and how long for.

All we can hope is whatever happens, they let us know as soon as possible so schools and parents can start planning.
