Arggghhh! I was just cleaning the oven and the door seal/gasket thing just snapped! Any ideas on how I can salvage this situation?!

No idea but I sure feel your pain.

My oven just broke. Every time I turn it on it trips the electrics 😩

Any local appliance stores open today that you can call and see if they have a replacement seal you can buy or even borrow from a display model?

MrsIronfoundersson · 24/12/2020 15:08

Oh no! Google model and part number and see how fast you can get it. Can your neighbour help on cooking tomorrow?

My DM refused to get a new one for ages when the oven cleaner broke hers and just sort of jammed it into place and closed the door. It worked, though the oven wasn't as hot because the heat escaped more.

If you don't want to do that, could you push some sewing needles though the rubber it to hold it together longways?

LagneyandCasey · 24/12/2020 17:33

Can you jam the ends in and use scrunched up foil to fill the gap?

Mizydoscape · 24/12/2020 20:30

So it's staying on 3 sides it's the bottom that's snapped. We've managed to cook tea tonight so hopefully should be all good tomorrow. I've also got some heat resistant glue that should hopefully stick it together as a temporary measure until I can get a new one :)

You might get one on amazon for Sunday if it helps

Mizydoscape · 24/12/2020 20:43

Thanks, I did. We found a lovely guy to come and have a look and he fixed it. Very lucky to have found him and sorted out by 4pm

Hope you manage to use yours, good luck Xmas Grin
