Returning an Amazon book

Does anyone know if this is possible without letting the buyer know? Someone bought me a book that I already have and it was a lovely, thoughtful present. Would like to swap it for something else if possible though.

Won't they get a refund notification? Just politely let them know it's a duplicate OP Smile

Amazon normally tell you to keep the book Grin

Just politely let them know it's a duplicate OP

I would normally but I think it might hurt their feelings in this instance so I would prefer not to say anything. I'll see if I can pass it on to someone else.

From the Amazon help pages:

Return a Gift

The Returns Center allows gift recipients to return items marked as a gift at the time of purchase. The type of refund or credit you receive depends on how the gift was purchased and how it's returned. Gift recipients won't be eligible for exchanges or instant refunds.

Note: Gift returns are confidential.

Just pass it on and buy yourself a book you do want!
I’m forever passing presents on, I’d hate to offend the person who’d bought it and to be honest I couldn’t ever be arsed dicking about to package something up to go to a post office to return it.
And if someone else I buy for ends up with a duplicate then they are welcome to just pass it on too.
