How are you managing to do a covid test on a 3 yr old who has already had one?

My DD (3) has had one test several weeks ago - she screamed like I’ve never heard when it went up her nose Blush

Her and my other DD (6) are booked in for tests as they both have a new cough. Any tips on how to entice a 3 yo to another test given that she took the first one really badly? This is a very determined kid 😩

Bribery? My 4 year old cried a lot after her one covid test but also her flu nasal spray. I’m dreading having to do her when she needs it again tbh. I’ve already had to promise her something nice for next year’s flu nasal spray and will have to warn the school she may well be a pain. Bizarrely she was totally chilled when she had it at 3 and said it was so much fun she wanted to go back (they gave her a lolly).

Definitely bribery. DD (nearly 3) has had 2. For the second one I was honest and said it'd be the same as before but that she could have a cupcake after. I let her hold the cake while she was being swabbed. She still cried but didn't struggle. And was fine as soon as it was over.

Held his hands and gave him a chocolate bar afterwards. He screamed and cried but it is what it is unfortunately 🤷‍♀️
