The church bells are ringing, first time since March. Sounds so lovely

Blue skies and sunshine!!

Doing evening gardening and listening to the very articulate ( for his age) and rather lovely 3 or 4 year old next door convincing his obviously tired Dad that it is most definitely not time for bed, he wants to see Father Christmas ( Southern Hemisphere, it’s Christmas Eve here ).

His reasons ranged from

1. It is still light ( 8:45 pm) dad pointed out it’s an hour past his bedtime
2. My dog came out to see him ( hurriedly popped dog away so as not add to the distraction)
3. He is hungry but only for chocolate, the cut up tomato was roundly refused
4. He is thirsty but refused the water that was offered
5. My flowers are pretty

6 trees are noisy ( it’s a little windy here)

I was impressed at his staying power and had to go inside to hide my smile and to stop being a distraction when lovely boy kept trying to talk to me.

Not sure they are getting their bundle of fun and energy into bed any time soon! A pleasant window into Christmas with small children.
