Im planning on preparing the veg and stuffing today and thinking a mulled wine would go down a treat while I do it.

When would you class an acceptable time for a mulled wine!?

If you’re outdoors: any time.

At home: ummm after lunch?

SadderThanEeyore · 24/12/2020 09:05

11am - normal pub opening time(!)

Plump82 · 24/12/2020 09:16

11am sounds like an acceptable time! And i guess that's just before lunch so not toooooo early!

3pm with the Nine Lessons and Carols? You don’t want to peak too soon.

Christmas Eve... anytime once you're up. I think I'd still draw a line at having it in bed (in the morning)...

I'd definitely need it if I had to sit through that again.

Now Wine
It’s Christmas Eve. Usual rules don’t apply for the next few days.

This is true. Though I agree you need to pace yourself.

Mulled wine hardly has any alcohol, surely? So get on it

DelphineWalsh · 24/12/2020 10:04

If you're not driving, anytime.

December

I loved mulled wine but can’t drink any more (migraines) so have one for me!

A drop of whisky is nice in your tea first thing.
TheChineseChicken · 24/12/2020 10:45

@KumquatSalad I don’t make it at all - I skip straight to the champagne Grin

I love how you're all on the same wave length and enabling!!
Its currently warming and will be adding a dash, or 2 of amaretto!

It's definitely allowed as soon as it's pm and it's the rule if you are cooking . Xmas Grin

anotherBadAvatar · 24/12/2020 11:26

Buck’s Fizz till midday.

Mulled wine thereafter

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 24/12/2020 11:39

Just done a 20 mile cycle ride and a swim in the river. I was up at 5am so am totally justified in starting drinking now! Mulled wine with smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels!
Then it's on with veg prep.
Cheers!

Vindo · 24/12/2020 11:42

I'd say.... acceptable with lunch and thereafter.
