Splinter and hard finger

Icenii · 24/12/2020 08:41

I have a black splinter that I can't get out with a sterilised needle. I woke up this morning and my finger feels a bit hard and slightly swollen and red. Not sure what to do. I don't want an infection.

Go to the dr. Nobody here can advise you with 100% certainly. Don't waste your time here with health concerns

Also advise doctor but as a plan B (if you can't see someone) magnesium sulphate paste, which you can get in a chemist, can also work - it sort of pushes the splinter out and is good for infections

Go with the paste mentioned above. I layer it on and cover. Leave for as many hours as you can and then gently push it out.

A chemist can remove splinters - Boots have done one of mine before.

Not sure if I have gotten it. Sat in warm bath and pierced skin numerous times with needle and massaged it. I can't see the black dot anymore but there are lots of pin prick holes covering it. Going to get some paste just incase. I did try to make one with Andrews!
