Anyone able to buy a chicken or small turkey today?

I have been to 6 different supermarkets in the London borough where I live and every shop was sold out of poultry. Also lots of the shelves were stripped bare.

I will hit the supermarkets as soon as they open tomorrow at 6:00 am.

Anyone know where there is a supply of chickens?

Was in M&S bluewater today around 1pm and they had loads of chickens and turkeys

If you gave an indication of where you are it might be helpful.

I couldn’t find a turkey, but we were able to buy a goose (for 6x as much). Could you consider goose or duck? I expect there is major demand because all the people who would normally go to family and share one bird between 10 are now buying their own for 2-4 people.

I'm probably not in the same area but M&S had a lot left today.

Yes, M&S by me too today, lots left. This was earlier this evening as well

We got our chicken from the local butcher.

My butcher had chickens. No idea about turkey as we have steak for Christmas.

Lidl had loads.

M&S have them all.

Tesco near me had loads this evening. Most of it reduced, though not by much.

Our local m and s had a few small turkeys (4-6portions) plus crowns and larger free range turkeys

Our independent butchers and Booths both have a good choice. No issues with supply.

Not sure what else you expected though the day before Xmas eve when turkey shortages have been discussed in the media for weeks/months now..... 🤷‍♀️

Not in London but my local M+S had tons of turkeys (whole turkeys, crowns, joints etc) yesterday 22nd and they were all in date for 25th onwards

I am hoping to get my turkey crown tomorrow. It may be late but I was expecting to go to family (now not possible as both in tier 4) and I only have a small fridge and freezer so no room to buy in advance and store. I'm really hoping that I can get one. A lot of us have been left in the lurch by the last minute rule change.

Just buy a big one and freeze the leftovers?

Our local m and s (NW London) had loads yesterday

I bought a turkey crown from Sainsburys this evening.

West Midlands - there was a fuck ton in stock.

I am in Kensington and there wasn’t a single supermarket in the area that had a bird to buy apart from giant sized turkeys. I will try again in the morning at the crack of dawn.

Try M&S or Waitrose at Westfield- they both had a good stock at 9am this morning.

If you are really stuck then buy chicken or turkey breast fillets and wrap in tin foil. They take no time to cook.
