We have a Norway Spruce that we got about 2 weeks ago from a Christmas tree farm- so very freshly cut. It’s in a stand with a reservoir for water and I’ve been keeping it topped up regularly- though haven’t needed to add much since the first 2 days, when it drank it all very quickly.
Now the water absolutely reeks, a sort of cheesy smell. I’ve bailed out as much as I can without tipping the tree over and replaced with fresh but the smell remains! I can’t even smell lovely Christmas tree anymore 
. Any ideas of how to fix this?
