I watched a film a few months ago on Netflix (I think, but might have been Prime) , I can't remember the title and it's driving me insane. I only have a sketchy memory of the content and no clue who was in it (helpful I know
). Here is what I do remember:-
It's set in Europe - maybe France or Italy
It's about a man from an antique dealer or auction house who only offers valuations on expensive or rare items (or something like that)
He is asked to value the contents of a house but says he doesn't visit places, but does eventually go and finds a house full of treasures, but the lady he has been corresponding with doesn't turn up. Eventually, he finds out she is in the house but doesn't want to be seen, will only speak to him through a closed door....still with me?
There is a cafe or bar near the house with a lady who watches the comings and goings from the window.
I watched it after a few drinks too many and would really like to see it sober and enjoy it properly....if only I knew what it was!
