My daughter has just left to go to a & e with a dislocated jaw. My husband is driving her and will be staying with her while she’s waiting to be seen. We’re in tier 4 and the hospital is full of Covid patients. Please tell me it’s going to be alright.

Oh bless her.
Hope she gets sorted quickly.
I'm sure they must have separate areas for Covid patients. I know they do in mine.

She will be alright. It will either be reduced in ED or maxfax will come (or she will go to them), depending on the Trust you are in.

If it goes back relatively easily and no sign of nerve compromise she will be sent home and back for out patient review.
If there is a traumatic cause for this, and there are other injuries she may have to stay. She will be xrayed. She will get a follow-up. She will be absolutely fine in ED. She is going to the right place. Please do not worry OP.

Ouch, poor thing. Those I know who have had cause to visit recently have all commented how quick and efficient it felt compared to previously. No-one wants people hanging around unnecessarily at the moment.

Fingers crossed for a swift visit Brew

From my experience they triage on arrival a suspected Covid cases are put in. Separate area to wait. Hope she’s okay.
