It’s been a really tough year. I was able to buy my kids presents, so for that I'm lucky. But their world has been turned upside down this year. We didn't have a good start to the year - Christmas was very tight last year. We had just moved. My daughter's birthday a few days after Christmas. My two son's didn't get a lot for their birthday (both July). But this Christmas, I was able to make up for some of it. I wrap the presents when they come in, so no peeking. By the way, Amazon is Santa's workshop and the USPS is Santa new sleigh - he's modernized since back in the day. LOL. But my youngest son (8) could not contain himself and figured out his favorite one - opened it and is playing with it as I type (spaceship lego set). I'm really not disappointed because he is so happy. He already knows the consequence and I think he is actually excited about the challenge. So, Christmas morning is going to be a scavenger hunt for him to find his new favorite toy (the astronaut lego pieces) duct-taped to impossibility and hidden somewhere in the house (or on the tree). I'm not going to take it away or make him drop it off into a donation box or scold him. It is Christmas after-all, a time for family happiness.
