Does anyone happen to know where I could buy kids plates with the lip around the edge to stop food falling off but in ceramic/porcelain etc rather than plastic please?
Thank you

Shameless bump

I've seen vintage ones on Etsy and Ebay, but they're an awful price.

Thank you @Thelnebriati
I can't find any. I really don't like how quickly the plastic plates seem scratched and unhygienic but DD still needs the lip around the edge.

You could use pasta plates?

Fattoushka · 24/12/2020 21:40

We use pasta plates, lovely ones in Sainsbury’s and matalan last week.
I also picked up a character themed bamboo plate in home bargains that’s much nicer than the plastic versions.

Any luck? Are you sure you dont like bamboo...

No luck yet. The suggestion if pasta plates is a good one but so far I have only found ones that are small at the base and flair out so they are not stable for cutting.
Not overly fond of bamboo. DD is 4 so we want something a bit more grown up but that still helps her to manage and isn't full sized.

How big does the lip need to be? If you Google "white plate with lip" then several one up like this one. Some are reasonably priced dinner sets so you could all have the same plates?

They definitely have some pasta plates in Tesco, that are wide enough for cutting on the bottom but have the lip, In a green colour, I saw them yesterday.

I bought some second hand pyrex plates when the kids were too old for the plastic ones but too clumsy for nice plates. They aren't that easy to get hold of now (as the sets count as collectables apparently) but my ones do have a lip round the edge and are virtually indestructible but look and feel like grown up plates.

Thank you all.
Pyrex would have been s good idea.
Tesco was a great call @Fattoushka. Found some side plates that are perfect.
