Supermarket shopping trolley help

I have an 8 month old baby who is nowhere near to being able to sit independently and is close to the 9kg weight limit on the baby seats in shopping trollies. His head is close to being over the edge too he has poor head control so I have to take extra care to support his neck. I have no idea how I am going to manage the weekly shop once he out grows the trolley we currently use. Has anyone got any tips or ideas?

At 8 months unless there's extra needs they will be very close to having full head control, my dd was fairly late at 7 months. There are trolleys that take a car seat too

I usually bring the car seat and put inside the shopping trolley. it's very comfortable for my baby and still have room for the groceries, try to go maybe later the evening usually supermarket tend to be more quiet.

Yes, car seat would work. Alternatively the built in baby seats with a rolled up muslin to support neck control. I know the say up to 9kg but I would be happy using just beyond there

Sorry if this is not suitable but can he go in a baby carrier attached to you?

Can you do an online food shop?

Do you ever carry him in a sling or carrier OP? That might be an option rather than the trolley? Also depending on where you shop they sometimes have different trolleys available for children / adults with additional needs to may be worth speaking to the store you usually shop in?

Can you leave him at home with husband/SO/Friend while you shop? I used to go late at night when mine were small so I bathed, fed and put them to bed then would leave to donthe shop - so OH only had to give cuddles if they woke. I would separate the shopping at the till and pack all chilled and frozen in separate bags - then when I got home late I left it in the car except for the cold stuff and sorted the rest the next day.

All my local big shops have got one, although sometimes you need to ask someone to bring it out from the back. It helps if you show them a picture of it too, the staff tend to know what it is but not what it's called.

Would baby be ok in a sling, then you can push a normal trolley.

I used to use a sling/ baby carrier.
I couldn't lift a car seat high enough or see past it for that style.
I also can't reach into the bottom of a deep trolley so use the shallow ones.

I never liked using the trolley seat for baby (yes I was very precious) I used to pop her in the sling to do shopping. Xx
