Supermarket substitutions..Christmas edition.

I always find substitutions amusing and at times completely illogical, my supermarket delivery arrived and in place of my Christmas edition cheddar and chutney crisps I got a 2 pack of unsmoked back bacon!

Have you had any good ones?

Great thread. Shame I’ve never had an unsuitable substitution, it would be a good laugh.

I have had some fantastic crazy substitutions in the past but nothing particularly eccentric in my Christmas one.

I did find it quite amusing that the pack of 4 ready-made Yorkshire Puddings got substituted with a pack of 6 ready-made Yorkshire Puddings, and the pack of 6 apples got substituted with a pack of 4 apples, so effectively 2 of my apples got transmutated into Yorkshire Puds.

My mum got profiteroles swapped for a ramen ready meal

She also had a no show for her Christmas meat today.

I know it's not Christmas any more but this is the most recent thread I could find to share this on, and while it is amusing it isn't worth starting a new thread for.

It took DH a couple of minutes to work out why I was laughing so much...

Our triple cooked chips, to go with steak, were substituted with a chicken and cider bake.

Kiho Love that!

DPs just before Christmas were given parsley sauce instead of bread sauce...
