If I hate hummus, will I like bean dip?

My family like hummus (or houmus, whatever). I don't.

They insist on making the H word.

Given that we are Zooming Christmas this year, and I don't have to eat the H word (hurray!), should I try bean dip?

I work with a lot of American colleagues and apparently this is a big thing, made with cannellinni beans.

However, one of the main problems I have with hummus is the texture, so am I just turning one extreme dislike into another?

(Yes, I know I don't have to do any of these things, but I do like crudités and dipping them into something that isn't guacamole or salsa sounds exciting. What can I say, I don't get out much.)

I thought that said humans.
No you probably won’t like it, what do you not like about the texture? Have you tried Sabra hummus?

Bean dip is a much silkier texture. This recipe is good but you may want to add a little more oil.

I dunno, I think it feels gritty to me? Perhaps I just haven't had nice hummus.

Marvellous! I'll check it out, thank you.

I think a roasted aubergine dip is better. I have to say I think bean dip is worse than hummus. Slimy.

I also thought you said humans!

What about tzatziki?

If you're zooming, just make food that you actually like. What you eat doesn't have to be performative. If you're doing dips then salsa or sour cream and chive or just plain ketchup, since no one you're talking to has to eat it.

Or hedge your bets and get. A multi dip pack like this www.ocado.com/products/m-s-4-classic-dip-selection-515703011
