To ask you which the best epilator is? Buying one for daughter's Xmas present and never bought one before!

She's just announced she would love an epilator for Christmas - seems like a great idea but how do I chose?

Which one do you rate? And what do you like about it?

Any other advice gratefully received. Thanks!

The brain silk epil ones are very good. I find the plug in one less painful as it never goes slow, but the wet and dry one is handy to take in the bathroom.

I've got a Philips Satinelle and it's been going for a good few years now! I have bought an own brand one from Asda in the past and it was useless. The bit that spins to pull the hairs out went so slowly that I'd have been better just using tweezers!

A Braun Silk Epil is the best I’ve used

Great - sounds like you are all real experts! Thank you ...

Anyone else?

I've had a Braun Silk Epil the wet & dry one for years.
I would recommend, it holds a charge for a good few uses and can be used in the shower as well as out.
If she hasn't used one before be sure to tell her to pull the skin tight when she's using it, can sting otherwise!

I’ve had a silkepil for about 20 years now. It’s a real wee trooper. Some tips /she will find it hurts but the more you do it the less painful it gets, take a painkiller an hour before and don’t use during your period (I read it was more painful and can confirm it is). She needs to exfoliate regularly in between to avoid ingrown hairs so a good stocking filler would be some exfoliating mitts and a nice body lotion.

Great thinking on the stocking fillers!! Thanks!
