It’s raining, no where is open, help!

Talking to his self isolating mate on Xbox. Swim training later.

BadTattoosAndSmellLikeBooze · 21/12/2020 13:35

My dog is snoofing (a very quiet woof through her nose) trying to remind my husband to stroke her.

🤣 Cute.

Bitbusyattheminute · 21/12/2020 13:36

Screens all round. They've been off since last Wed. I have done a bit of baking, am about to tidy the kitchen, then plan lessons. Weather is shit, they can't see mates, I have work to do, so screens it is.

bobby81 · 21/12/2020 13:37

We’ve been swimming this morning (local pool open as long as you pre book), had a walk around the outdoor market then home for a bit of time on the Xbox. He’s gone on a bike ride now (a bit of rain wouldn’t stop him). We’re tier 3, it’s difficult but we seem to find activities to do most days. He played football yesterday & have another bike ride planned for tomorrow. I guess it depends where you live (we’re very rural) and how outdoorsy your kids are.

DD 13 is reading, in a bit we'll make mince pies.
DS2 11 is playing Mario on the Switch after giving up many many attempts at building a house of cards!

orangeicecream · 21/12/2020 13:43

DD in bed on screen - hasn't got dressed for days but has done a little bit of work
DS on box - will come for walk and do workouts in his room and does a little maths each day.

They would pretty much be doing this if there was no Covid I reckon!

CMOTDibbler · 21/12/2020 13:51

DS(14) is lounging on his bed with the dog, reading. DH and I are working

MrsMariaReynolds · 21/12/2020 14:13

It's been a flurry of exciting screaming at the tv/Xbox most of the day so far, but with TikTok to break up the monotony. We're not even in lockdown, but might as well be. Hmm

Baking and reading would definitely be an improvement, but that's not happening.

EmmaWithTheGreatHair · 21/12/2020 14:20

Ds eventually got up, had lunch, showered and we’ve watched Gino, Fred & Gordon in Lapland on
Catch up. He’s now back on the laptop.

giggly · 21/12/2020 14:32

Ok so most Scottish schools don’t stop until tomorrow and now not likely to back until 18th January at the earliest

piefacedClique · 21/12/2020 14:33

Getting on my ducking nerves 🤣🤣🤣🤣

rachelbloomfan · 21/12/2020 14:34

Watching YouTube of course 😂 what else?! I am hoping to drag him out for a walk later (he wasn’t too impressed when I announced this!) and I might manage to talk him into making a gingerbread house and watching a Christmas movie together later.

Orangeblossom77777 · 21/12/2020 14:34

Youngest on Minecraft with friends, elder one revising for GCSEs

iloverock · 21/12/2020 15:33

Annoying each other mainly.
And then annoying me.

Teaandscone · 21/12/2020 15:51

Chessisasport, your dog sounds lovely.

TangoWhiskyAlphaTango · 21/12/2020 15:54

DD is out getting the last of her xmas shopping and DS is shouting playing on his computer.

PiersGaviscon · 21/12/2020 15:55

managed to get them to agree for the three of us to watch a film together, which is a rare occurrence.

Teenagetrials · 21/12/2020 15:55

House party 😱

AdelaideK · 21/12/2020 16:01

My 13 year old has been on the PlayStation and is now out posting a few Christmas cards for me.

OhWhyNot · 21/12/2020 16:12

Gaming and chatting with friends

Occasionally play fighting with me

barnanabas · 21/12/2020 17:35

Walked the dog, made a den, baking, set up a 'party tea' for the three of them. About to watch a film and stuff down all the snacks they've made.

I've had a crap day, trying to work and with appliances breaking left, right and centre, so delighted they've managed good-natured, largely screen-free entertainment. Kitchen looks like there's been a tornado though!

In the interests of full disclosure though, this is an exception that proves the rule. There's a lot of screens and bickering usually.
BigusBumus · 21/12/2020 17:42

My 13 year old cleaned my car with me. It was quite satisfying as my car is white and was absolutely filthy. I bought new buckets and sponges and car shampoo and it was quite fun doing it together with hot water and bubbles.

Mumshappy · 21/12/2020 17:43

Dd1 went to the hairdressers and then christmas shopping for her last bits.
Dd2 is currently at ballet and tap. She spent all morning on screens trying to avoid having a shower.

@sunshineandshowers21 what a beautiful image!

Playing on the PlayStation. They love that game with the cars...
