Just that? I've got one present ready (photobook) but would like something else. No idea what though!

Mydogisagentleman · 21/12/2020 11:57

Coconut door mat, weed suppression stuff on a roll and the pleasure of our company.
Neither want any more clothes, books, alcohol so they are tricky buggers to buy for

Unmute · 21/12/2020 11:57

They're not quite 70, but earbuds for dad, I knitted my mum a jumper, plus I got both of them books and snacky things I know they like (liquorice, olives, chocolate, nuts)

ByersRd · 21/12/2020 12:15

Food hamper...or rather a food shop. I usually buy them 'Christmas treats' but this year a full shop will save them going out.

I used to do this for my Nan. One year it snowed really heavily. She was delighted that the hamper meant she hadn't had to go out at all. Feels pretty similar just now.

LaPoesieEstDansLaRue · 21/12/2020 12:16

I've put together a hamper for my Mum and Step Dad. It's a nice wicker box that they'll be able to use again filled with 2 lovely monogrammed china mugs, Christmas socks, bottle each of Baileys and whisky, nice chocolates, scented candle, hand cream homemade shortbread and mixed honey and salted nuts which I have yet to make.

tigerbear · 21/12/2020 12:57

Nothing apart from a photo book like you OP
We’ve agreed not to do presents this year, and instead all put money in to pay for a reunion gathering for the family at a cottage or country house for as soon as restrictions are lifted (if ever??)

Scarby9 · 21/12/2020 13:04

Books - a big stack - for my DF. I usually get him a jumper at Christmas but he said he had enough to see him out...

My mum is more difficult as she has dementia and arthritis in her wrists so almost everything she used to love she can no longer do or enjoy eg. reading, board games, crafts. I have got her a picture book of their local area and two thin thermal jumpers to wear under her other clothes when I have to force them outside to meet me. Also a picture Christmas bingo I saw recommended on here. Now that there is only me and them for Christmas it may not work, but I thought she might be able to play that as it is picture matching.

Also my presence, which they thought wouldn't be possible, and all the Christmas food and treats for 5 days. Hopefully enough to give a festive feeling.

Vanillaradio · 21/12/2020 13:10
