Nespresso vertuo pod recommendations - not liking it so far

Just got a new vertuo coffee machine, I’m a bit of a noob when it comes to coffee i.e., never owned a machine before, only really go to chains to have it. No idea which roast I prefer lol

This may be an unpopular opinion amongst coffee fans but I genuinely love the taste of latte’s from the likes of Starbucks, Pret, Costa, Nero etc.
I don’t order anything special (no syrups) just regular latte’s with almond or oat milk.

Decided to finally get a coffee machine to save money in the long run and it seemed the nespresso vertuo had plenty of great reviews... but I haven’t liked any of the starter pods I’ve tried so far. Doesn’t taste as nice as coffee from chains at all Sad

Any pod suggestions for someone who likes a milky coffee?

Also another thing I’ve noticed is that the coffee isn’t as piping hot as coffee shops, once I’m near the bottom of my cup it’s lukewarm. I’m guessing because I’m using cold milk - don’t know whether it’s worth getting one of those milk frothers too

It’s hard to explain why the coffee doesn’t taste as nice, feel like it’s slightly bitter, flat / burnt or something. Plus leaves drying after taste

I use the nespresso aerocinno and make an espresso topped with shit load of hot froth milk for a latte, or an American which is an espresso then drop the pod an top with hot water (press the button again) for a long black coffee. Always warm your mug first (press the button with no pod to get a shot of hot)
I dont like a long coffee pushed through the pod i only like the espresso (plus milk or extra water if you like) version. This copies what coffee shops do to make drinks - it’s always espresso plus stuff never loads of water pushed through the grounds.

My husband has this machine and makes me a milky latte using Altissio which I really like. You have to heat milk up (in microwave) to get the temperature right.
