Fairly recently diagnosed as coeliac so I’m wondering if you can recommend some lovely gluten free treats for Xmas?

Most shops have gf sausages and pigs in blankets. Aldi gf mince pies are nice. Gf cheese sauce for cauliflower. Ice cream. Dairy milk. Waitrose gf brownie mix and sourdough cob. Prewetts double chocolate biscuits. Waitrose again for gf stuffing pastry and yorkshires. X

The co op do lots of gluten free food.
I've recently bought some mozzarella sticks and some spring rolls.
Very nice.

They also have profiteroles which are gluten free

I was in the allergy section of a very small Sainsbury’s yesterday and they had loads of GF Christmas treats. A big Yule log that looked very tasty as well

Tesco finest range do gf sausages , chipolatas , pigs in blankets , cocktail sausages and have chipolata pigs in blankets . In their frozen section that do gf chocolate eclairs which are nice ( according to my dd) .

M&S do I nice range of GF foods.

Sainsbury's g/f christmas cake is lovely, the co-op ones not so nice. I have had couple of mince pies this year, but didn't like them much, but I can't remember what brand they were. Tesco's do an amazing amount of gluten free food in their larger stores, haven't been disappointed by anything yet. Their salted caramel sponge pudding is divine.

M&S GF mince pies
GF chocolate yule slices from Morrison's - best things ever!!
Kettle chips
Asda's GF frozen mozzarella sticks

Also these Yorkshire puddings are amazing and so easy to make

All the CoOp frozen party food is GF and lovely.
Usually all the M&S stuffing and garnishes are GF, and a few of their party foods. Their GF mince pies are my favourites this year
The GF yorkies in Waitrose are my favourite. If I make them from scratch they rise, but always sink

OhHiya · 20/12/2020 20:26

Thank you all so much! Will be checking out a lot of these!

I've been on Mumsnet far too long. I read the thread title and immediately thought, 'What is goady fucker Christmas food?' Xmas Blush

Then I imagined pigs in blankets shouting "Come on you vegetarian wankers, I'll fight the lot of you".

I should probably put the Christmas wine down Xmas Blush Wine

FindHungrySamurai · 20/12/2020 20:32

Obviously all of the Christmas dinner is GF by default except the bread sauce as long as you make the gravy with cornflour and the stuffing without breadcrumbs and pick GF chipolatas for the pigs in blankets.

For pudding I’d have pavlova because it’s my favourite and can be made the day before. Maybe add some brandy cream into the whipped cream, or have a simple chocolate and egg chocolate mousse.

For nibbles, nuts, figs, kettle chips and dips, or crudités if you’re feeling healthy are all perfectly standard fare. Gluten free florentines are pretty easy.

MountainDweller · 20/12/2020 20:37

Haven't tasted any this year but in previous years, Genius mince pies and Waitrose Christmas cake slices were very good!

JamesMoriarty · 20/12/2020 20:38

We're having pavlova for dessert too, nice and easy.

Winglessvulture · 20/12/2020 21:29

The Co-op and M & S both do some really nice gluten free food. We have got a gf chocolate cake for Christmas day, and some gf pigs in blankets.

rookiemere · 20/12/2020 22:14

Roast chestnuts on the bbq went down a treat with our outdoor guest who is vegan and gluten-free.
