Brie that won’t melt

Bought the wrong one. In a big size.

Anything I can add to it that might make it melt or get a bit creamier?

Thanks.

What are you wanting to make with it?

Swifey40 · 20/12/2020 19:03

Keep it in the kitchen as opposed to the fridge, it will be nice and ripe after a few days.

AcornAutumn · 20/12/2020 19:03

Melted Brie 😂

Like for dipping

Even on toast, you grill it and it has a rubbery texture.

I think it’s the wrong kind...pasteurised or unpasteurised, basically I bought the wrong one.

You want Camembert for melting and dipping really, rather than Brie.

Raera · 20/12/2020 19:05

Should you have bought camembert?

PotteringAlong · 20/12/2020 19:07

I agree, the wrong cheese for what you want. If you want to melt it for dipping you need Camembert. Buy some more, eat the Brie separately

IHaveBrilloHair · 20/12/2020 19:07

Its just not ripe enough.
If I'm buying a bog standard supermarket one, I buy a month in advance.

YesMeLady · 20/12/2020 19:07

Maybe cut the rind off or cut it horizontally and grill it.

AcornAutumn · 20/12/2020 19:09

I’ve done this with Brie loads

I think I’ve just got a very low quality one. I’ll keep it outside the fridge and see if that helps, thanks,
