Medical managed miscarriage questions

Have name changed for this. Am posting for company as much as anything else, but any experience would be helpful.

I was given mifepristone last night at the hospital, after a missed miscarriage was diagnosed. Measuring 6 weeks but should have been 8. I have another four tablets to take tomorrow morning but started to bleed heavily about 2.5 hrs ago I think.

I am just hoping it is over now Xmas Sad Have been feeling about a pad an hour and passed a huge clot about 15 minutes ago. I was shocked at the size of it and am thinking/hoping surely there can’t be anything else.

The pain is still there even after strong painkillers though Confused

Plus ddog left the room just before it started (and hid under a table from me and cried when I went to check on him 😭). He came back upstairs and lay with me for a bit at a point when the pain seemed to ease off again, but when I came out of the bathroom after the clot he had legged it again - and still hasn’t come back up , so I am worried that there is more to come or he would have come back by now!

DH has fallen asleep (and left me sitting here watching a miserable film about the Oslo killer ) and even my dog (who is usually so clingy and caring) has abandoned me. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry right now Xmas Blush Xmas Grin

Oh, also do you think I can get away without taking the other four tablets tomorrow? I am scared of worse pain and want this to be over. But also don’t want to have to go into hospital if it isn’t all gone. So have answered my own question there really Grin

Sending a handhold OP, I should have been 12 weeks next week but discovered at my 8 week scan that I’d never got past about 5. Had my miscarriage naturally a couple of weeks ago.
However I did also have a MMC 18 years ago that was medically managed. Do take the other 4 tablets. Have you got pain relief? What worked best for me was heat, if that helps you it might be nice to be cuddled up with a hot water bottle or something similar.

Sorry for your loss. I’ve had 2 medically managed, both after MMC. I had two different experiences so I’d say it isn’t always the same, but it does sound like worst pain will be over soon. I remember having heavy bleeding/cramps on and off for a few days, but the first 24 hours was definitely the worst. I would definitely say take the tablets as advised, as the worst thing would be to have to go to hospital like you say. I hope you manage to get some rest tonight and the pain eases soon.

I'm so sorry you've had to go through this. Take the tablets as the Drs know best and get a hot water bottle on you. Rest for as long as you need and really lean on mumsnet as you are never alone here.

Sorry you're going through this. I had an MMC - no heartbeat at 12 week scan. I ended up having 2 DNCs about 10 days apart followed by tablets a week later as I was still passing large clots. Please follow the instructions you've been given and take the remaining tablets tomorrow. I know you're scared of the pain and feeling incredibly low and lonely but the realisation that it's not over and you require further medical intervention to make it over more quickly is just horrendous.

Thank you all of you, and I am really sorry for your losses as well Flowers

It feels really rubbish. The dog has returned though which is nice, and I took more painkillers which have kicked in. I think he could sense how much pain I was in, I’m really surprised that he ran off though, that seemed to make it all worse.

@ifchocolatewerecelery - I am sorry you went through that. I know you are right. I don’t want to go to hospital and be surrounded by strangers, I’ll take them at the right time in the morning x

@Goatscheesewithhoney how are you doing? Hope it’s all manageable and the dog is sticking close by
