Five day mixing brought down to one day only

Tier 4 people not allowed to mix at all over Christmas and must stay home.

Another one here with a terminally ill family member. This is awful news. My Mum isn't at all likely to last until next Xmas, and is horribly depressed at her situation. I'm in London but live alone and haven't seen anyone for 2 weeks to reduce the risk to her. I think I'm going to travel if I physically can.

Saint Boris can’t tell the time, it won’t be 4pm. I’m going for a walk to spot Christmas lights at 4pm. I’m not turning on my TV for his ugly mug, or hour after hour of “next slide, please”.

Whatever he announces, it might bring on a long overdue public backlash. Make him work for prime ministerial perks, as someone forgot to tell him that hard work is part of the job.

Arboria · 19/12/2020 15:03

BBC are saying it will be 6pm

Keep1984fiction · 19/12/2020 15:14

Strictly also due to start at 6pm.

MrsGatsby99 · 19/12/2020 15:25

@PumpkinQueen in tier 3, you are allowed to visit people who are dying so hopefully will stay the same if there is a tier 4. Otherwise, it seems so cruel.
See gov.uk

TiddyTid · 19/12/2020 15:49

Cue second homes being utilised with immediate effect and Tier 4 spreading far and wide

@IntermittentParps

Is he finally going to say that mixing over Christmas is madness and must not be allowed I hope it's this and not lockdown/travel ban. DP and I are not mixing with any other households but we are booked to go away (within the UK) and desperately need the break/change of scene.
Oh you poor things. Don't know how you're coping as you go through this tragic situation alone.

Lock your doors and stay inside you daft sod
