whisky cocktail recipe?

I have a bottle here but am not a big fan of whisky.

Any recommended recipes that can be made without 20 ingredients?

I'd regift it if you don't like it (whisky cocktails still taste of whisky) or save for guests who like it.

I just googled 'whisky cocktail recipe' and there are loads with a handful of ingredients.

You could simply mix with lemonade, or ginger ale (and lime).

It is a cheap Aldi bottle, not suitable for regifting.

DH would drink it but I fancy a try of some cocktails.

If it's American whiskey (rye or bourbon) rather than Scotch whisky, you could make a Manhattan - 2 : 1 whiskey and sweet red vermouth (we just use Martini Rosso) with a dash of bitters. It needs to be stirred with lots of ice (or we just put the mixed glasses in the freezer for a bit) and is very potent! You'll probably like it if you like a Negroni Smile

I think you can make a version with Scotch whisky called a Rob Roy.

There's also the Simple Sour (no egg white) which is whisk(e)y, lemon juice and simple syrup in the ratio 2 : 1 : 1. Or mix the booze with sugar and got water to make a hot toddy!

I got a cocktail shaker, jigger and double-decker ice cube tray for my birthday, along with a brilliant book called The Twelve Bottle Bar, so I've been making lots of cocktails this year. The book has recipes for hundred of cocktails that you can make with just 12 bottles in stock (and you can still make lots of them, obviously, if you only have 1 or 2!)
