I’ve just finished watching it! Absolutely excellent!

I know!!!!

I think I worked out what was happening about 2 mins before the big reveal. To be fair I’m not a big Star Wars fan but I do enjoy The Mandalorian.

If Grogu stays with Luke then his fate will be to die at the hands of Ben Solo. The time line is just after ROTJ when Luke travels the universe collecting artifacts and force objects. He starts his Jedi school and well, we know how that ends.

As an aside I hope you all watched to the end credits! Exciting stuff.

But what will Mando do next? Those tears at the end ...

Well they’ve confirmed Season 3 so at least we know the story doesn’t end here...

I wonder if Grogu will be mentioned next season. I think it will be more about Bo Katan and the retaking of Mandalore.

I confess I'm not well up on the extended universe Bo Katan hails from but I expect a few more characters to be pulled in from that such as Sabine Wren etc.

I'll miss it on a Friday. Useless fact, I am a proper garrison registered (retired) stormtrooper so I geek out over the armor.

It was AMAZING!

It was wonderful! I recognised the light saber and was delighted (although in general am not a fan of digitally recreating people).

So lovely he felt able to take off his mask for Grogu. Definitely had a tear in my eye!

Yes the gloved hand gave it away for me too. I now want an R2D2 to go with my Grogu!

Really interesting that others liked it. DH and I have been watching (and also just re-watched Season 1) and thought it was awful!

The previous episode was so amazing but the finale felt very cliched and stilted in contrast. I guessed aeons ago that Grogu would end up with Luke because of the timeline so that wasn't a surprise. I had actually hoped that they would have a new different Jedi and it was pretty disappointing to see Luke.

The cliches in the storytelling were really annoying as well. A sword that can only be wielded if you have won it in combat? Moff Gideon finding a gun when he is on the floor in handcuffs?

Bo-Katan is also tedious and a nothing character.

On the other hand, I love Fennec so looking forward to seeing more of her.

There have been some fantastic episodes this season but the finale was a let down for me!

Our DC haven't made the connection with the Jedi being slaughtered by Ben Solo

Loved that episode though. And how fab it was that there wasn't just a token female!

The fact that the women did the fighting and the man did the nurturing wasn't lost on my dds and they loved it!

Ohhh I have an R2, I have a few actually from little ones that whizz around the floor and annoy the dog to a life size one. He’s bigger than you think..... Mine has a little motion sensor hidden away so when you walk in the room he beeps.

I am more a casual Star Wars fan than a proper fan, I have loved the mandalorian though. Still not sure how to take that finale.
I don't think it needed Luke although the fact it was Luke not an issue for me HOWEVER the de-again was awful. And for me detracted from what should have been the moment of the episode. It takes you right out of it at the moment you should be right in it for Grogus goodbye, then again to break the moment bleep bloop, R2D2 toddles out.

To be fair if it was this Sebastian Stan guy people were chatting about i maybe could have bought it! I just think it was to focused on a fan boy moment to have hamills Luke back to bring a bit of justice over sequels move for me personally but I can write it off as a finale for the die hards I suppose

I loved The Mandalorian.

I'm pretty sure will see Grogu again, the relationship between Mando and Grogu is what makes it work.
