Mulled wine opened a year ago: still OK?

Hi, bit grim, but I opened a bottle last Christmas (nice, fancy stoneware one with a cork) and there's half left; it smells OK. I poured a bit in a cup and all looks fine.
Do you think it's OK to drink once heated?

Taste it?

Nacreous · 18/12/2020 17:05

I would expect it's mulled wine vinegar by now...

But tasting it will be the only way to find out.

I can’t imagine it will be nice! (And we’re serving a pudding that went out of date 3 years ago so I’m not precious!)

Probably ok to cook with only.

I had this exact dilemma a few days ago. I drank it. My tongue and throat felt like I had drunk antifreeze for about 2 hours afterwards. Not recommended!

rookgizzardpie · 18/12/2020 17:16

no!

Aquamarine1029 · 18/12/2020 17:17

Bin it.

Good god, it’s revolting stuff at the best of times imho but year old revolting stuff? Just no.Shock

It's Christmas. Be kind to yourself. Drink some freshly opened mulled wine.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 18/12/2020 17:32

Take care and keep it away from polished surfaces however it may be fine for polishing hubcaps. Grin

ApolloandDaphne · 18/12/2020 17:51

I imagine it will be disgusting by now.

Popcornismandatory · 18/12/2020 17:55

I wouldn't

SnugglySnerd · 18/12/2020 17:58

I've been deliberating over a bottle I opened 4 weeks ago! I thought that might be a bad idea. It'll be fine won't it??

Last years though I'm not so sure!
