Their smoked salmon, they do a special fancy smoked salmon for Christmas and it genuinely does taste better than the regular stuff!

Laufeythejust · 18/12/2020 12:50

Percy pigs
The onion ring crisp are amazing
Goats cheese and red onion tarts
Chocolate chip shortbread from the bakery bit- even better if they’re still warm
One of the large vegetable samosas for the journey home

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/12/2020 12:55

Those huge fat green olives
Little peppers stuffed with cheese
Cheese and onion rolls in a box
Those shortbread biscuits with chocolate on
Jaffa cakes
Prosecco
Port
Flowers

Gogreengoblin · 18/12/2020 13:02

Cream cakes, they are brilliant.
Cheeses, their 'normal' lasagne, gin, the passionfruit and mango cheese cake of they still do it, none of their sweets Grin

shenanigans5 · 18/12/2020 13:05

Their profiterole stack, bakery bread, Greek yoghurt (not he Greek style yoghurt), berries and mango, the roast in a giant Yorkshire ready meal, the chicken and red wine casserole, gin in a tin, bistro frites, steak, peppercorn sauce, prosecco.

Thefirsttime · 18/12/2020 13:06

Cava or champagne. I think their cava brut is the best supermarket cava and you could get 5 bottles for £50.

TeddyIsaHe · 18/12/2020 13:10

The £10 platter of iberico jamon is utterly divine.
Their party food is great this year - I had some for my birthday. The tiny lobster Mac & cheeses and mini burgers are especially good.
Yumnuts!
They do a cheese platter with 8 or so incredible french cheeses for £9. It’s perfect for 2 with crackers and chutney.
Their Best Ever lasagne is amaaaazing.

anicecupoftea19 · 18/12/2020 13:12

The little lemon drizzle cakes are amazing 🤤

katieg03 · 18/12/2020 13:14

The Clementine and cranberry bucks fizz 💞💞💞💞

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/12/2020 13:15

The posh veggie macaroni cheese is really nice

Mammyloveswine · 18/12/2020 13:29

Oooh if they have a "dine in" offer on would get that for £12...

The 3 for £7 tapas bits..

The Rostis to stick in the freezer..

A couple of the Gastropub meals

And then a bottle of wine

Contemplatinglife · 18/12/2020 13:35

Their family sized steak pies are very good and the cans of raspberry mojitos are my favourite! The pink prosecco is also very good

BarbaraofSeville · 18/12/2020 14:16

Yule log cake £20 is delicious

That sounds like a lot. Is it massive? I paid £5 for one from Waitrose because I'd read in some 'we tasted all the Christmas food' feature that it was the best one and it looks like it will do 6 decent slices.

We just get the things we need or like from there and ignore all the stupidly expensive things, like packs of meat for £3 when you can get virtually identical in Aldi for £1.29.

TheQueef · 18/12/2020 14:45

Worth £20 Babs it's really nicely decorated. It was intended for the centre table but the date was 19/12 Hmm
My pal is collecting one for herself so I'm getting another Blush
I do like a nice chocolate cake.

katscamel · 18/12/2020 14:52

Their Chinese/Thai/Japanese selection, Colin the Caterpillar (or just a random chocolate swiss roll/yule log), something alcoholic, a coffee/cappuccino cake (the one without nuts), wasabi peas (yum), and random cheese/seafood bits. £50 really wouldn't last long.

Katjolo · 18/12/2020 15:00

Percy pigs and party food.

PleaseGodLetItEnd · 18/12/2020 15:03

Cocktails in a tin
Lots of the 3 for £7 tapas/buffet things
Best ever trifle
Onion crisps (in fact all their knock off crisps are ace - skips/frazzles/chipsticks/wotsits equivalents)
The fancy rectangular Jaffa cake knockoffs
Peppercorn sauce for steaks
Presliced runner beans (theirs are the best for some reason)
Percies OBVS

PleaseGodLetItEnd · 18/12/2020 15:03

That’s about £100 isn’t it?

HollowTalk · 18/12/2020 15:08

I recommend the steaks, triple cooked chips and the lemon meringue pie. Oh and Colin the Caterpillar.

Sn0tnose · 18/12/2020 15:28

Their Black Forest gateaux/cake is the best thing I have ever tasted.

Also, they do a really nice St Clements trifle and I would actually kill for one of their baguettes with some salted butter right now.

I’ve tried the mini Yorkshire puddings with arancini and was really disappointed, along with the Percy pies and the mini Colin logs.

ChristmasUserName2020 · 18/12/2020 17:46

Passion fruit Swiss roll and cream. So yummy. The chocolate biscuits in a blue box that are mostly chocolate, 😋 Some steak.

Sforsh49 · 18/12/2020 18:12

The pink lady apples from there are amazing. Like pink ladies on steroids and so yummy!!

Smoked salmon is currently £8 for 300g when it's 4.50 for 100g in Asda/Tesco

Any of the picky deli stuff, and mini Melton Mowbray pies. Also the fiery tortilla chips and houmous (can never spell it) 😋😋😋

sammylady37 · 18/12/2020 18:25

Buck’s Fizz
Their extremely chocolatey caramels (they’re actually called that)
The chocolate Viennese biscuits

I8toys · 18/12/2020 18:26

Just thinking what I've got in the fridge

Cornish Cruncher baked cheese - dunk in bread
Cheese twists 2 boxes for £2 I think
Anything Picard from the freezer
Belgian chocolate biscuits
Piri Piri Chicken and anchovies from the deli 3 for £7
Coronation chicken flatties
They have lasagne and pepperoni dips - heat up and dunk things in
Nduja paste spread on crostini

I always have a look on here to see what's new

@TheQueef

I just looked on the M&S website but can't see the Yule Log???

I did see a lovely vegan mushroom pie in the shape of a mushroom and a vegan nut wreath both of which looked lovely

I'd probably buy some dine in for £12 deals.
Their cake is the only supermarket cake which tastes nice, imo
so I might buy some fruit cake as I love it.
Maybe a fancy drink for Christmas like posh gin or a fancy liqueur?
