Anyone else not at all ready for Christmas yet?

I do this every year - leave everything to the last minute Angry. Afterwards I swear I’ll do it differently next year!

I really cbarsed but I’ll be rushing round the shops like a blue arsed fly next week swearing to myself.

I have a grand total of 3 presents (4 DC, DH and family members to buy for) so need to get a LOT more, stocking fillers and food/booze. I bought table crackers a few weeks ago though!

It just feels over whelming so I just keep putting it off. One year I actually left all the shopping until Christmas Eve! Luckily the DC were all little so I could just fill up a trolley at Toys r Us for most of itGrin.

Anyone else like this?

Me! Last year I was (for the first time ever!) organised but this year I’ve not done a thing.

Luckily no DC. We’ll be having Christmas in March at this rate.

Yep. I've also got a phenomenal amount of work to do before then too. I've done a massive Amazon order today (& yes it's ethically unsound but unless someone wants to pop round, sort the chaos, finish about 60 hours of really complicated brain frazzling work which I'm over deadline for, whilst parenting my kids and simultaneously saving Christmas then Amazon it is..) ...even once all that arrives then nothing else has been done and I'd love to blame this shitshow of a year but it's far from the first time!

I do things last minute, but more because my family arent willing to give me present ideas earlier than about mid December. Then this year I have been working flat out, often 7 days a week. But to counter that, my dh is unemployed so he has taken on a lot of the preparation this year. Even so, I woke today in a total state of stress because I felt so much needed to be done. But, this evening, I am pleased to say all the presents are bought, if not yet delivered, and the tree is up and decorated. I need to think about food this weekend, for dh to buy next week when I am at work, but that feels far more manageable than all the present buying.

So, the short version is, this morning I was not ready at all. Tonight, I feel on top of things.

Me me me!!! I have brought one present and that’s it! We have just gone into tier 3 so shopping is going to be fun and I dare not but anything online now in case it doesn’t arrive!

BaublesToIt · 17/12/2020 23:46

So glad I’m not the only one. I just hate shopping of any type!
