Who else has twitched?

I was all done, then I popped out for a few bits this morning.
Came back with a bit extra Blush. In my defense it was mostly useful stuff, toiletries, clothes etc.
I wrapped them immediately and put them in the cupboard to hide my shame.
Who else, I can't be the only one?

Stocking fillers, definitely. And 2 weeks ago I panicked that it didn't look much so. I ordered beanbags cos they're big Xmas Blush.

AldiIsla · 17/12/2020 16:53

Lidl had lovely slipper socks and hat/glove/scarf sets for children.

JMAngel1 · 17/12/2020 16:55

I've been twitching for days Grin
Not helped by fact that both DDs have a big ticket tech item so the rest of the presents didn't look like enough. Even though lots of money has been spent.
I think the earlier I start, the more I buy. I am done now - no more bloody buying!!

LagneyandCasey · 17/12/2020 16:56

I'm being surprisingly good this year, although I generally fall at the last hurdle - bargains from the local shop on xmas EveBlush

DartmoorDoughnut · 17/12/2020 16:56

Yup Blush panic bought extra stocking bits this morning for the boys and still haven’t got anything for Dh’s stocking which is the reason why I’m twitching and ARGHHHHH

Pascha · 17/12/2020 17:00

Also, I foolishly got sucked in to making an advent window to go up on Sunday so I stopped at Hobbycraft for some bits earlier which was fatal as I also went next door to B&M for teabags and ended up with new glasses and a table runner.

DrWAnkenstein · 17/12/2020 17:04

My downfall was Home Bargains. I went in for cleaning stuff and came out with nice soaps and toothpaste for the kids stocking.
And a multi pack of glitter...

It was the start of a slippery slope. I think I was giddy from actually being out as I haven't really been to the shops for ages.

Do you think new swimming goggles will count as a twitch. They are essentials....

Itstheprinciple · 17/12/2020 17:12

A positive covid test has put a limit on my twitching! I will have 3 days next week to catch up on missed twitching though once I'm free from isolation!

DrWAnkenstein · 17/12/2020 17:13

YES! You are a twitcher @Aroundtheworldin80moves Xmas Grin

I keep twitching re my parents. Problem is I twitch one at a time and so I end up buying something extra for my DF and then the next day decide that he has more than DM so I buy more for her and then the next day, I decide I was right all along and need to buy something more for DF. And the cycle goes on...

Bubblebox · 17/12/2020 17:20

I am really trying to ignore the Barbie and moving horse that I know DD (4) will love and now I'm very interested in the hat and scarves that @AldiIsla mentioned. 🙈

Stepintochristmas2020 · 17/12/2020 17:27

I've been really good.. were going shopping on Sunday to get something for dfil, but the kids will be with us so wont be able to buy anything extra for them then.

AldiIsla · 17/12/2020 17:50

I've already wrapped so can't show you @Bubblebox but they're very thick and lovely, they had both plain and character styles and worked out cheaper than Primark. £2.99 for two pairs of socks with grips and £3.99 for the hat, scarf and gloves.

Bubblebox · 17/12/2020 18:03

@AldiIsla
Now you're just encouraging me.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 17/12/2020 18:51

Goggles have been ordered... On DH Amazon account so I say it's him that twitched! (He has prime, I don't)

CockleburIck · 18/12/2020 12:36

I thought this was a thread about birdwatching 🦅😬

Haven't heard 'twitching' used this way (as far as I can work it out) before!

DrWAnkenstein · 18/12/2020 19:45

Should have been "The Twitch" much like The Ick.
Heard it here first, describes it perfectly.

Last weekend before Christmas and I'm definitely feeling twitchy! Even though I'm comfortable with the presents I have bought for everyone, I keep seeing things I know people would like. The thing I am most twitching about is a sports jacket for ds favourite team as I've spotted a new one was released this week.

lucysmam · 19/12/2020 09:05

Yep; stocking fillers in Primark, yesterday. I needed one item for dd1 as something hasn't arrived through the post. So I bought a few things each 🙄

Then I saw these little rubix cube keyring things at the till in The Works, that dd2 would like. Had to buy 2 though or it'd be uneven!

& I need an "emergency" stocking filler for dd2, just in case the one that hasn't arrived for dd1, does arrive Xmas Hmm

I'm quite happy with their tree presents, I think.

Pascha · 19/12/2020 09:13

The last Twitch has arrived - hotwheels cars, though I think ds2 will be giving them to ds1 so maybe its not a twitch, just a late idea?

Our local farm has advertised all sorts of goodies in its vending machine - Cheesecake, cookies, bacon, pigs in blankets, so when I go for eggs and milk later I might well food twitch too.
