Alternatives to Dyson airwrap?

So would like to curl my hair single handedly, don’t get on with the heated curling rod. But can’t justify the cost! Half the price maybe. Any other companies doing a similar thing now for less price?

i love this www.babyliss.co.uk/curl-secret-2667U.html

you can find it a lot cheaper than the babyliss site too

Thanks that’s great! I have fairly short hair so was looking for something that more spiralled I think? Would this work?

Yes you get ringlets depending on high you set the heat and how long you hold it in for

When you say single handedly do you mean by yourself or with one hand. Becayse you can’t use it with one hand.

I was looking forward ideally another company that has made something similar that doesn’t require lots of dexterity, I have a standards wand but even with the gloves etc can’t hold my hair and not burn myself!

I use this and its great. Lasts for days.

It's very hard to burn yourself using the babyliss I linked above as the actual hair goes into the barrel automatically once placed in and you just hold the handle. What I like about it too is that it curls the hair in different directions so (to me) looks more like a natural curl

RainMoon · 17/12/2020 20:01

Thanks, I read about the babyliss 1000 thing but said people burn their hands on that

@MrsJBradders I think I understand the secret curl thing more and I think that might be what I’m looking for! So my understanding is you just clamp the hair near the head and it auto sucks it it? Easy?
Have you got the pro curl or the secret curl?

I have this one

glamoriser.com/product/glamoriser-auto-curler/?gclid=CjwKCAiAoOz-BRBdEiwAyuvA69O75g42e0ofpxF9eEnnP75aEmiKOsDie9-t83WeumuYZeGLCkxWZBoCD0MQAvD_BwE

It's brilliant I can curl my hair in 10 mins, has different timers so can have tight/loose curls. I wear extensions as well and it still does your hair quick could never go back to a wand now.

My Dm has got me the babyliss air styler for Xmas but there's no auto curl function I just wanted it for the round brush and smoothing brush.

Someone at work has the dyson and barely uses it. Said it's faffy and if you have a lot of hair takes ages to curl as you can only use small sections

RainMoon · 17/12/2020 21:32

They look interesting thanks!
I’ve got fairly short hair, currently the longest it’s been (lockdown!) and is just about collarbone length if I pull it straight, but it’s usually a few inches shorter. I think I want to aim for Claire from modern family’s look!

I got this the other day.www.<a class="break-all" href="https://amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07X3SLZN1?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum--chat-4108841-Alternatives-to-Dyson-airwrap" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07X3SLZN1?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
Gives a nice curl.

RainMoon · 17/12/2020 22:17

@Justanotherdayina how long is your hair? Would it work on shorter hair? Who knew these things existed!

Just above shoulder. Very similar to the style you want. Looks a bit too curly at first but drops out to give that look. Have a look on YouTube.
