What would you say the £2 is for?

I'd say including lunch. I gave DS £2 this morning. He's just rang saying he needs money putting into his account for his lunch and you pay for that separately.
I don't think the poster makes that point clear or am I just dim?

What would you say the £2 is for?

Sorry I think it’s a separate thing!

Pipandmum · 17/12/2020 12:15

It's for Save the Children - the logo is right there.

SantasBritchesSpelleas · 17/12/2020 12:17

No, I can't see anything there to say there's a separate payment for the Christmas lunch. Very misleading.

SkepticalCat · 17/12/2020 12:17

£2 charity donation to wear Christmas jumper.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 17/12/2020 12:17

Yeah sorry I think it's quite clear the £2 was a donation for wearing the jumper

DailyPotion · 17/12/2020 12:18

I think it's usual that donation is for the jumper day, but you're right, that's not what the poster says.

grool · 17/12/2020 12:18

I would have assumed the £2 is just for the jumper as it is mentioned under the Christmas jumper heading and the christmas dinner heading is further down. They should have put the price of the dinner on though, to stop any confusion. I don't think you will be the only person to make that mistake.

Pipandmum · 17/12/2020 12:18

Oh I see what you mean. £1 would hardly cover a Christmas lunch though - dies he normally pay for lunch? I agree not the clearest wording.

Pipandmum · 17/12/2020 12:19

Or £2 even!

PickleSarnie · 17/12/2020 12:19

It seems fairly clear that the £2 is for the jumper and that the school dinner just happens to be Christmas themed but isn't included in the £2.

NotExactlyMrsCurrentAffairs · 17/12/2020 12:19

I did think it was cheapBlush

£2 for the jumper wearing as a donation to save the children.

Even if unsure surely they fact they are fundraising would suggest they won’t be paying for the children’s dinner too!

Bluntness100 · 17/12/2020 12:20

I think it’s a bit much to expect cmas lunch and a donation for two quid. Unless you think you’re donating like five pence and Christmas lunch is an apple and a biscuit.

Woahisme · 17/12/2020 12:20

Can see where the confusion lies, I had to read thisn3 times to check my thinking. Christmas jumper day = £2 donation to handed in to teacher. And also, it is christmas lunch day on the same day. If you pay for DS lunches online, I guess he would need money on his account for Christmas lunch.

BiscuitDrama · 17/12/2020 12:20

£2 is cheap for lunch. But expensive for a donation, surely £1 is more usual for things like that. So I’d be confused and check.

Woahisme · 17/12/2020 12:21

Excuse typos

Daydreamsinglorioustechnicolor · 17/12/2020 12:23

Its not clear at all. I'd say £2 for Christmas jumper, but then it could have said the price of Christmas lunch as well to make it more obvious

Iggly · 17/12/2020 12:24

It says £2 donation.

Why on earth would you ever be asked for a donation for a school Christmas lunch 😂

helloxhristmas · 17/12/2020 12:25

It's not clear but I would have assumed £2 doesn't cover a donation and a christmas lunch.

UserMcNewName · 17/12/2020 12:28

Save the children Christmas jumper day. It has the save the children logo on and says £2 donation next to the info about jumpers. Then it says AND lunch.

Our school lunches are £2.50 so how would they have donations that include lunch for less than the cost of lunch usually?

It's slightly ambiguous but understandable as soon as you think logically. Don't worry though, we've all had days when we don't get as far as the logic part.

Soubriquet · 17/12/2020 12:29

See common sense would say that Christmas lunch is separate, BUT that poster makes it look like it’s included with the £2 donation

Very badly worded

UserMcNewName · 17/12/2020 12:29

Also it's usually been a £1 donation but the adverts are saying £2 this year. Presumably because fundraising has been rough this year. Some schools (like the ones here) are sticking to £1 and presumably this one is doing the £2z

TicTacTwo · 17/12/2020 12:31

School lunches cost more than £2 so I would expect to pay £2 plus lunch

Seeline · 17/12/2020 12:32

It says at the bottom 'students will order their Christmas Lunch - details to follow'

Were there any further details - I would assume that is where you would be told the cost of the meal.

And the word donation to me implies the money would goto charity, dinner would not be included.

yellowsubmarines · 17/12/2020 12:34

It would have been better to have both the donation price and the lunch price listed on the flyer.
