House sparrows and building work

I have to have my external walls re rendered and guttering, soffits etc replaced in January. I have at least 2 sets of house sparrows living somewhere in the roofline. They've been there for years and I love having them there. I'll probably put up some nest boxes when the builders have finished but how do I minimise the impact of the work on my feathery guests?

I'm rubbish at adding links Op, if you go to the RSPB forum there are quite afew chats about sparrows and roofs. Good luck with the work and I hope your sparrows stay.
